Welcome to all practice educators, on-site supervisors and agencies considering offering a social work student placement.
We hope these web pages will give you all the information you need in setting up and supporting a social work placement.
This document provides agencies and practice educators basic information about supporting a social work student on placement, the support we offer and the information we will need to set up a placement.
This brochure is for individuals who are thinking about applying for a place on the social work course here at Anglia Ruskin University. It sets out clearly what they can expect in terms of placement options, travel arrangements, time commitments and so on.
Our social work placement guide is updated every academic year and advises all parties on the processes and requirements of social work placements. It includes contact details, placement dates and information on the assessment. The workbook is the assessment tool that is used throughout the student social work placement.
It is really important that students have a good induction to your agency. You may find this template document useful in supporting the student over their first couple of weeks.
We run a number of workshops per year for practice educators and on-site supervisors, workshops for practice educators and a two-day training programme for those acting as on-site supervisors for our students or thinking about undertaking the role in the future. See the workshop flyer for details of upcoming workshops.
