Budgeting advice

Our dedicated Money Advice Service can help you navigate money matters, from budgeting to identifying potential funding opportunities.

For international students, our Living in the UK page contains additional information and resources on the cost of living, including an example budget.

Help finding work

ARU Temps, our campus recruitment agency (part of our Employability Service), can help you find paid temporary work that fits around your studies. Part-time work can also be a great way to enhance your CV.

ARU scholarships and bursaries

We have a range of scholarships and bursaries to help our students succeed. Some of these are automatically awarded if you meet the eligibility criteria and register as a student, and some are awarded according to your family's income.

Government loans

Full-time undergraduate (UK) students can apply for a Maintenance Loan to help pay for living costs, while postgraduate students can apply for a Masters or Doctoral Loan. The loans are provided by the Government and you can apply for them before you start your course. You won't start repaying them until after you've graduated. See our student finance pages for more information.
