Writtle University College and ARU have merged. Writtle’s full range of college, degree, postgraduate and short courses will still be delivered on the Writtle campus. See our guide to finding Writtle information on this site.

Due regard - SCPHN

Due regard is practised when the practice teacher:

  • has the specialist skills required to support the placement learning outcomes
  • is from the same part of the register and field of practice as the student
  • supervises and monitors progress throughout this period
  • assesses component skills related to the programme outcomes.

Practice teachers who assess the SCPHN students fitness for practice at the end of their programme must be registered in the same part of the NMC register, that is SCPHN, and be from the same field of practice, that is school nursing or health visiting.
