Access to information

ARU is a Public Authority and as such a number of laws apply to the information we hold providing the public with certain rights to request it and, subject to legal restrictions, to access it.

The laws governing these rights promote transparency, encourage proactive publication of information, require us to explain why we will not release certain information and provide for a right of complaint to the regulator (the Information Commissioner’s Office).

Importantly, someone requesting information does not need to know which law applies to the nature of their request. It is our responsibility to understand this and inform a requestor under which set of rules our decisions about handling their request are made.

If you wish to access personal information that we hold about you, please contact us at [email protected]. We have advice about your rights over your personal data.

The following links explain more about your rights provided by the relevant legislation. This may help you to better frame your request to help you get what you need and may help you to get access to the information of interest to you that is already published.
