Your graduation ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to mark and recognise all you have achieved and to celebrate with family and friends.
Given the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to inform you that graduation ceremonies scheduled for July 2020 have been postponed. We'll publish more advice on our 2020 graduation page soon.
We appreciate this is a difficult time and recognise many of you are understandably anxious. If you have any immediate concerns please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a graduate you do not need to buy a ticket to attend your ceremony, but you must confirm your attendance. This can be done using the My Graduation tile on your e:Vision, which will appear on 27 April and remain live until 2 June. Confirming your attendance is free of charge and must be done by 2 June if you are planning to attend. If you have not confirmed your attendance by this date, we will assume you do not wish to attend.
If your final award is not due until 19 June, please still confirm your attendance by 2 June. More details can be found below.
Once you have confirmed your attendance, you will be able to purchase a maximum of three guest tickets. These are required for entry to the ceremony and the post-ceremony reception. Each guest ticket costs £25 and includes a souvenir programme and complimentary drink at the post-ceremony reception.
Guest tickets are available to purchase via the My Graduation tile on your e:Vision between 27 April and 2 June. If you have not purchased your guest tickets by 2 June, we will be unable to guarantee you any.
On 3 June we will publish, on these pages, if any ceremonies have additional guest tickets available and at 10:00 on 4 June we will re-open the on-line booking via the My Graduation tile on eVision. Additional tickets may then be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis. The on-line booking service will be available until the ceremony is full or 2 July.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that any additional guest tickets will be available. If you are unable to secure ceremony tickets for all of your guests, they are still able to join you for the build-up i.e. photography and gowning and can then watch the ceremony, via a live stream at various areas near the ceremony venue, which will be signposted on the day. We are not able to keep a waiting list or make special exceptions for guest tickets.
If your award is not due to be confirmed until 19 June, you should still confirm your attendance as detailed above. Your booking (and guest tickets) will be provisional, subject to your award being confirmed by 19 June 2020. If you are unsure of your Anglia Ruskin University Awards Board date, please contact your faculty administrator.
If your award is confirmed at the Awards Board, you will see confirmation of this at the bottom of your results page in e-Vision. An award letter and final EDS transcript will then be sent to your home address in e-vision on the Official Publication of Results date
If you have failed an assessment and have a reassessment opportunity in the next academic year then we would encourage you to continue to complete your intended award and look forward to seeing you at a future ceremony. To cancel your robe hire, please contact Ede & Ravenscroft on 01223 861854.
As this is a formal event, you will need to arrange robe hire for your graduation ceremony. Your entire robe package (gown, mortar board and hood) can be booked from 27 April via Ede & Ravenscroft. To ensure a robe is available for you on the day, you will need to have booked your robe at least 21 days before your ceremony. Robe hire cannot be guaranteed after this date and if available it may be at a higher hire rate.
You will collect your guest tickets from the check-in desk on the day of your ceremony. Please note, guest tickets are not transferable between graduates. You will be asked to present your ticket confirmation receipt (printed from eVision) on collection of your tickets.
Graduands will be seated separately from their guests and will be in the order in which their names are called to cross the stage. Each row will be directed to the stage at the correct time by our Conferment staff.
Guest tickets do not have allocated seat numbers and your guests will be directed to the best available seats on the day. If your guests arrive late or separately, it may not be possible to seat them together.
If you, or any of your guests, have any special seating requirements please indicate these when purchasing tickets via eVision. Special seating requirements will be based on your requirements and will not necessarily be at the front. We will endeavour to accommodate all requirements.
To avoid disrupting proceedings, guests are asked to remain in their seats for the duration of the ceremony.
We appreciate that your graduation is a family celebration and whilst children are most welcome to attend, experience has shown they can become bored and restless during ceremonies. However, we understand it is not always possible to make alternative childcare arrangements.
Children under the age of five may attend free of charge but are required to sit on the lap of the accompanying adult. Only one under 5 is permitted per accompanying adult. Children aged five and above must have their own ticket and seat. There are no concessions for children. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult; please note that children cannot be seated with the graduand. As this is a formal occasion we ask all children are carefully supervised by the accompanying adult.
Due to space restrictions, buggies and seat carriers are not permitted in ceremony venues. These items can be left in a designated unsupervised area at the owner's risk.
