Confirm your attendance and buy guest tickets

How do I confirm my attendance?

As a graduate, you do not need to buy a ticket to attend your ceremony, but you must confirm your attendance. This can be done using the My Graduation tile on your e:Vision, which will remain live until midday on 20 September.

Confirming your attendance is free of charge and must be done by 20 September if you are planning to attend. If you have not confirmed your attendance by this date, we will assume you do not wish to attend. We will not be able to accommodate a request to attend after this date.

How do I purchase guest tickets?

Once you have confirmed your attendance, you will be able to purchase a maximum of two guest tickets. These are required for entry to the ceremony and the post-ceremony reception. Each guest ticket costs £25 and includes a souvenir programme and complimentary drink at the post-ceremony reception.

Guest tickets are available to purchase via the My Graduation tile on your e:Vision between 23 August and 20 September. We are unable to sell any guest tickets after 20 September.

I would like to purchase more than two guest tickets

Our priority is ensuring that all students are offered a place at one of our graduation ceremonies, and this does mean a limit of two guest tickets per student.

All of our ceremonies will be live streamed via our webpage for friends and family to watch from home.

Can I defer my graduation ceremony?

Yes, all students have the option to defer their graduation ceremony. If you would like to defer your ceremony to 2022, you must confirm this in writing to us via email including your ARU SID.

When will I receive my guest tickets?

You will collect your guest tickets from the check-in desk on the day of your ceremony. Please note, guest tickets are not transferable between graduates. You will be asked to present your ticket confirmation receipt (printed from e:Vision) on collection of your tickets.

Graduands will be seated separately from their guests and will be seated in the order in which their names are called to cross the stage. Each row will be directed to the stage at the correct time by our Conferment staff.

Guest tickets do not have allocated seat numbers and your guests will be directed to the best available seats on the day. If your guests arrive late or separately, it may not be possible to seat them together.

If you, or any of your guests, have any special seating requirements please indicate these when purchasing tickets via e:Vision. Special seating requirements will be based on your requirements and will not necessarily be at the front. We will endeavour to accommodate all requirements.

To avoid disrupting proceedings, guests are asked to remain in their seats for the duration of the ceremony.

Children at the ceremony

We appreciate that your graduation is a family celebration and whilst children are most welcome to attend, experience has shown they can become bored and restless during ceremonies. However, we understand it is not always possible to make alternative childcare arrangements.

Children under the age of five may attend free of charge but are required to sit on the lap of the accompanying adult. Only one under 5 is permitted per accompanying adult. Children aged five and above must have their own ticket and seat. If you arrive with more than 1 child per adult or with a child over the age of 5 without their own ticket you may be refused entry to the ceremony.

There are no concessions for children aged 5 and above. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult; please note that children cannot be seated with the graduand. As this is a formal occasion, we ask that all children are carefully supervised by the accompanying adult.

Due to space restrictions, buggies and seat carriers are not permitted in ceremony venues. These items can be left in a designated unsupervised area at the owner's risk.
