Confirm your attendance and buy guest tickets

How do I confirm my attendance?

As a graduate, you do not need to buy a ticket to attend your ceremony, but you must confirm your attendance.

This can be done using the My Graduation tile on your e:Vision, which will appear on e:Vision at 10am GMT on Monday 9 September 2024. We will send you an invitation and direct booking link to e:Vision.

Confirming your attendance is free of charge and must be done by 2pm on 21 October 2024 if you are planning to attend.

If you have not confirmed your attendance by 21 October 2024, we will assume you do not wish to attend.

How do I purchase guest tickets?

Once you have confirmed your attendance, you will be able to purchase a maximum of two guest tickets. These are required for entry to the ceremony and the post-ceremony drinks reception. Each guest ticket costs £25 and includes a souvenir programme and complimentary drink at the post-ceremony reception.

Guest tickets are available to purchase via the My Graduation tile on your e:Vision between 9 September and 21 October 2024.

I would like to purchase more than two guest tickets

When you confirm your attendance, you will be asked if you would like the opportunity to purchase any additional guest tickets (in addition to the two guest tickets you can purchase in this booking period) should they become available for your ceremony. To be selected for additional guest tickets you must select "yes" to this question to be entered into the ballot. If you select "no" you will not be invited to purchase additional guest tickets if they become available.

Registering your interest to purchase additional guest tickets does not guarantee access to the sale of these tickets. There may be ceremonies with more demand than there are tickets available, and some ceremonies will not have any additional guest tickets released. If there are additional guest tickets for your ceremony, and you have registered an interest, the system will then randomly select and invite those in the ballot to purchase a limited number of additional guest tickets. You will receive an email confirming the outcome of your entry into the ballot. If you are successful in the additional guest ticket ballot, you may not receive the full number of guest tickets you want. You are therefore strongly advised not to make arrangements for guests on the assumption you will receive additional guest tickets.

Additional guest tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Successful applicants in the ballot will receive an email with a link to e:vision to purchase the additional guest tickets. There will be a limited period in which to make the purchase so you will need to check your email account regularly including spam and junk folders. Additional guest tickets are priced at the same amount as the initial 2 guest tickets (at £25 each).

If you are not selected in the additional guest ticket ballot, you will receive an email informing you that there are no additional tickets available to purchase.

All our ceremonies will be live streamed via our webpage for friends and family to watch from a phone or device.

Can I defer my graduation ceremony?

Yes, all students can request to defer their graduation ceremony once, to the next ceremony period (July 2025) if they have exceptional circumstances that prevent them from attending their allocated ceremony. If you would like to request to defer your ceremony, you must confirm this in writing to us via email including your ARU SID within the initial booking period stating your reason for deferral. Please read our terms and conditions for further information.

When will I receive my guest tickets?

You will collect your guest tickets from the check-in desk on the day of your ceremony. Please note, guest tickets are not transferable between graduates. You will be asked to present your ticket confirmation receipt (printed from e:Vision) on collection of your tickets.

Seating

Graduands will be seated separately from their guests and will be seated in the order in which their names are called to cross the stage. Each row will be directed to the stage at the correct time by our Conferment staff.

Guest tickets do not have allocated seat numbers and your guests will be directed to the best available seats on the day. If your guests arrive late or separately, it may not be possible to seat them together.

If you, or any of your guests, have any special seating requirements please indicate these when purchasing tickets via e:Vision. Special seating requirements will be based on your requirements and will not necessarily be at the front. We will endeavour to accommodate all requirements.

To avoid disrupting proceedings, guests are asked to remain in their seats for the duration of the ceremony.

Children at the ceremony

We know that it is not always possible to make alternative childcare arrangements, but we do advise against bringing any young children to your graduation ceremony as they are long and formal occasions where children are likely to become bored and restless.

Children over two years old who do attend must have their own seat and you will be required to pay full price for their tickets.

All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult guest and are your responsibility. It is not possible for children no matter their age to be seated with graduates, so please ensure they have a chaperone with them at all times. If they are not accompanied by a suitable adult guest, you will be asked to leave so that you can care for them and you will miss your Graduation ceremony.

Children/babies in arms under the age of two may enter free of charge but will need to collect a ticket on the day, and they are required to sit on the lap of an accompanying adult guest. Buggies and seat carriers are not permitted in the venues.
