Writtle University College and ARU have merged. Writtle’s full range of college, degree, postgraduate and short courses will still be delivered on the Writtle campus. See our guide to finding Writtle information on this site.

Building Performance

A building needs to perform well in terms of economics, environment, comfort and design. Qualifying and quantifying good building performance is challenging and vital for the effective operation and use of the building.

Interrelated topics of research under this theme include structural modelling, operational performance, human behavior, critical infrastructure, building information modeling (BIM), buildings management, environmental modelling, building conservation materials, construction material performance, architecture design and construction in buildings, energy efficiency.

We offer our Engineering and the Built Environment PhD. We've also identified a range of innovative research project opportunities for postgraduate researchers.
