Writtle University College and ARU have merged. Writtle’s full range of college, degree, postgraduate and short courses will still be delivered on the Writtle campus. See our guide to finding Writtle information on this site.

A student looking at bug hotel, Bugingham Palace, on ARU's Chelmsford campus

There are lots of ways that both staff and students can participate in environmental activities at ARU, helping to make your life, our University, and the world a little greener. We maintain a Communications & Engagement Framework (PDF) to guide all these activities to engage our staff and students.

ARUgreen

Our students and staff can join our ARUgreen programme to collect points and rewards for taking steps that boost sustainability and wellbeing.

This includes regular news updates, an events calendar, monthly challenges, bi-monthly webinars, a materials exchange and car share scheme.

Green Trails

Take a walk following our biodiversity trails in Cambridge and Chelmsford, and submit a wildlife sighting via ARUgreen if you spot something interesting.

Student opportunities

Attend seminars, become a Responsible Futures auditor, apply for an internship, and more with our friends at the Global Sustainability Institute.
