Late in 2019, we worked with Chelmsford City Council to arrange a mass tree planting.
As part of our commitment to supporting wellbeing and taking action on the climate emergency, Victoria Tait from the Global Sustainability Institute and Benedict Williamson from ARU's Environment Team worked in collaboration with the Council on the tree-planting event.
The event was attended by 25 staff and student volunteers who worked in Admirals Park, Chelmsford to plant over 1,000 native trees on an area of unused grass.
Staff and student volunteers had intended to return for an aftercare session in May 2020, but were unable to do so due to the pandemic.
