You can pay your ARU tuition and accommodation fees by international bank transfer.

GlobalPay for Students

Students who wish to make payment of their tuition fees and/or accommodation fees by international bank transfer, are often vulnerable to fluctuating exchange rates and bank charges from both the sending and receiving bank.

International students can now pay their fees using our payment platform, powered by our partner Western Union Business Solutions called Global Pay for Students. This allows you or your parents, to pay your fees in the currency of your choice. It is a simple, quick and secure way to initiate payment.

GlobalPay for Students price promise

If you find a total price offered by your bank to send a payment to Anglia Ruskin University that is cheaper than the price offered by the GlobalPay for Students portal, Western Union Business Solutions will honour your bank’s total price (subject to terms and conditions). Can I pay fees in my own currency?

Yes, you can. You can make payments for tuition fees and accommodation instalments via International Bank Transfer with GlobalPay, a specialist international payment platform provided by Western Union Business Solutions.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

As an international student you’ll be required to pay a deposit of £4,000 towards your tuition fees before you receive an unconditional offer or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). This will be listed as a condition on your offer letter.

Alternatively, if you’re a government sponsored student, you’ll be required to provide a copy of your official letter of sponsorship/financial guarantee to our International Admissions team.

How do I pay my deposit?

Details of how to pay your deposit will be included with your offer letter. We recommend that you pay online using our University's online payment system.

Alternatively, you can pay via International Bank Transfer with GlobalPay, a specialist international payment platform provided by Western Union Business Solutions. You can also pay by bank-to-bank transfer. This method takes 7-10 days to process. Further information on this payment method will be included in your offer letter.

Requests for refunds of any deposit paid will be administered in accordance with our fees policy – which can be located in the Rules, Regulations and Procedures for Students and a refund of a deposit where applicable may not be given in the event of a refusal of a visa application should Anglia Ruskin University not be at fault, including if the refund arises from you giving false or incomplete information to the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

How do I pay my fees?

We recommend that all students use our University’s online payments system online payments system to make a payment to us with a debit or credit card.

Alternatively, you can pay via International Bank Transfer with GlobalPay, a specialist international payment platform provided by Western Union Business Solutions.

If you’re not able to pay online, details of how to pay by bank-to-bank transfer will be included in your offer letter.

We do not accept cash as payment for tuition fees or accommodation.

If I pay my tuition fee deposit of £4,000 and am not able to join, will I be able to request a refund?

Yes, we will refund your deposit if you cannot join us. The refund will be paid in full, subject to any exchange rate fluctuations and bank charges.

Alternatively, we can defer you to the next intake and your deposit can be held for that intake.

Please note that a refund may not be given in the event of a visa refusal arising from the submission of false or incomplete information to the United Kingdom Visas and Immigration service (UKVI).

When do I need to pay my fees?

After you have paid your deposit, you can decide to pay the rest of your annual tuition fee in full, or you can pay in instalments. You may be eligible for an early payment discount if you choose to pay your full annual tuition fee.

If you choose to pay your tuition fees in instalments, you’ll pay a £4,000 deposit, then instalments as follows.

  • Students starting in September: 60% of the full fees at registration, a further 40% in January.
  • Students starting in January: 60% of the full fees at registration, a further 40% in May.

If you choose to pay your tuition fees in instalments, the payment will be taken from your account automatically on the 15th of the appropriate month.

Note that if you don't pay your fees by the agreed dates, you may not be able to continue your studies or graduate.
