Induction Week for Writtle College students

If you're starting a course at Writtle College, your induction programme includes a range of activities and events that will help you become part of the Writtle community. It takes place in early September.

You'll learn about what to expect from your course, attend various workshops, and interact with your new classmates.

When is Induction Week?

In 2024, all new Level 2 and Level 3 students will be in college on either Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 September, or Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 September. We'll confirm dates at our GCSE results event in August.

Regular classes start week commencing 9 September 2024.

Day 1

On your first day please arrive at main reception for 9am. Get directions to Writtle College and download a campus map.

From reception, you'll head to your base room (details will be on the letter we give to you at our GCSE results event).

Look out for college staff on the front lawn, at main reception and around the building. We're here to support you and direct you to the right room, so don't worry!

On your first day you will:

  • get to know your new classmates and Course Manager
  • meet key college staff
  • receive important information about your course
  • hear from the careers team
  • take part in a college orientation activity
  • attend a welcome session in the FE Hub
  • visit the Induction Fair.

Day 2

Day 2 of your Induction is a chance to:

  • visit your curriculum area
  • meet your teaching staff
  • hear more about work placements you'll be undertaking
  • get to know the Maths and English teams for those retaking GCSEs.
