In Cambridge, our gym can be found on the first floor of the Helmore Building at the main Campus on East Road and is open to students, staff and members of the public.
Helmore Gym boasts a broad range of cardiovascular equipment with 15” LCD touchscreen consoles with built in digital channels and internet browsers. In addition to this the gym has two Olympic lifting platforms and racks, dumbbells ranging from 2.5kg–50kg and modern, functional resistance machines. The equipment at the gym provides options for everybody, no matter the goal.
Lockers, changing facilities and accessible changing facilities are also available.
The gym is open all year round except for public holidays, bank holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year when the University is closed.
Cambridge fitness classes take place in the Coslett Dance Studio (COS 010), a short walk from Helmore Gym. Anybody taking part in fitness classes is more than welcome to make use of the lockers and changing facilities at Helmore Gym. The studio is managed by the Student’s Union.
We also have a tennis court on our Cambridge campus which is available for our students and staff to use. The court can be found to the rear of Peter Taylor House and can be booked free of charge at Helmore Gym.
