BASES Student Conference 2023

ARU hosted the BASES Student Conference 2023 at our Cambridge campus.

The 21st BASES conference took place from 24-25 April 2023 and was centred around the theme of Reflections from the Past Driving the Future in Sport & Exercise Science.

The conference gave students an opportunity to engage with peers from across the UK through keynote, oral, poster and symposia-based presentations, as well as during social events.

2023 marked a historic milestone within exercise science as it represented the centenary of the publication of the seminal work by A. V. Hill on maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), work that was completed in Cambridge. It is from this historic perspective that our conference emerged. We celebrated the next generation of sport and exercise scientists while reflecting on the journey that our discipline has gone through.
