Ikigai: an alternative approach to student outcomes.
In the West we can tend to take a rather reductive approach to learning and student outcomes with different university agendas co-existing rather than working together synergistically. In this session with Dr Alison Greig we will explore the Japanese concept of Ikigai as a more holistic framework through which students can make sense of these different agenda and help find their personal sense of purpose. In the spirit of active learning you will be invited to participate in thinking about your own ikigai and then to reflect on the usefulness of this approach for your students.
