Nursing taster days

Student nurse

Have you got what it takes to become a nurse? Find out at one of our taster days.

You’ll get:

  • the chance to speak to a course lecturer and current students
  • a presentation covering the role of the nurse
  • placement information
  • practical experience of the skills lab environment
  • useful tips on applying for our nursing degree courses, including interview preparation.

Please note that because of room restrictions, we can't include family or friends in taster day sessions. If they'd like to visit ARU, we recommend coming along to one of our Open Days.

Dates for 2019

We run our taster days between October and December every year, in Cambridge and Chelmsford.

Register your interest for 2019 and we'll contact you when dates are confirmed.

Alternatively, come along to one of our Open Days.

Working as a nurse

Nursing really is a job for life. As a nurse, you’ll make a difference to many people’s lives, including your own. Nurses help people to improve, maintain or recover their health and achieve the best possible quality of life.

You can work as a clinician or move up through the ranks to more managerial positions. Beyond this, there are opportunities to move into research and the academic route, so wherever your strengths and interests lie, there is something for you.

96% of our graduates were employed six months after completing their degrees. Many of our students get job offers from their placement areas before they even graduate.

Your future is wide open. It all starts here.
