Research interests

  • Quality of education, raining and care health outcomes and performance
  • Value added in medical education
  • Selection methodology

After initial research into effective selection into GP training Simon became interested in satisfaction with and the quality of education. He has used the value add methodology applied in mainstream education to consider medical education.  His key current research is seeking to demonstrate a link between the quality of education and learner satisfaction with this to quality of care provision and ultimately, he hopes, to health outcomes.

Simon teaches in the UK and internationally on healthcare and education leadership, quality of care and primary care education. He also teaches on compassion in medicine.
