Robert is an experienced dispensing optician who qualified in 1982 at Bradford college. He has had various roles over a career spanning 40 years. His last role was as a joint venture partner of two large practices in Norfolk.

He now supports our FdSc Ophthalmic Dispensing course and the BSc (Hons) Ophthalmic Dispensing course.

Background

Robert was founder and joint venture partner of the largest optical practice in the Specsavers group. Over 25 years the practice grew from a 1 million turnover business employing 15 staff to a 8.5 million turnover business with over 120 staff.

Over this period he has been involved in the training of 24 dispensing opticians, 7 contact lens opticians and 8 pre -registration optometrists.
