Areas of Expertise: Consumption and change
Obehi joined the GSI in 2014 as a PhD researcher and is specialising in Education for Sustainable Development (EfS/ESD). She has also held the role of Education for Sustainability Engagement Assistant at the GSI and Urban Living Programme (ULP) Assistant at the Faculty of Science & Technology.
Before joining the GSI, Obehi’s research and work also focused on Education for Sustainable Development, including embedding ESD in the Curriculum at University of Sunderland and contributing to the development of the North East Education for Sustainable Development Programme.
Obehi sits on the steering committee of the United Nations Regional Centre of Expertise on ESD in the North East of England (RCE North East). She is the CpD coordinator and Secretary of NECTER (North EAST Centre for Transformative Education and Research), the coordinating body for RCE North East. She also contributes to Sustainability initiatives in West Africa, including the embedding of ESD in informal education.
Obehi's working thesis title is 'Social networks and learning for sustainability', and her supervisors are Dr Alison Greig and Dr Chris Foulds.
