Lauren has had a varied career in education, starting as a primary school teacher, progressing to a Deputy Headteacher and Director of Primary Science in a Multi Academy Trust. Lauren is currently completing the National Qualification for Headship whilst working as a School Improvement Advisor and a Senior Lecturer Practitioner.

Background

Lauren trained to be a primary school teacher after a research project in Northern India sparked her interest in education. She has taught in all year groups from EYFS to Year 6 in a variety of schools across Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. Lauren worked as an Assistant Principal of a large primary school, followed by working as a Deputy Headteacher.

Lauren held the position of the Director of Primary Science for a MAT, mentoring and coaching teachers throughout stages of their careers, as well as designing assessment, shaping curriculum and leading staff professional development.

Now a School Improvement Advisor for Soke Education Trust, Lauren joined ARU in September 2024 as a Senior Lecturer Practitioner. Lauren is based at the Peterborough Campus lecturing and mentoring in the BEd Primary Education with QTS course.
