Laboratory manager with oversight of facilities in the David building and the Science Centre, and manager of the technician team serving the labs.

Background

Kevin has been at ARU since the last century, but prior to life here he worked as a R&D and Applications specialist in industry. He joined in 1999 at the inception of the new Forensic Science department, to be the subject technician. Since then, his role has broadened to include H&S responsibilities, team management and faculty facing roles such as being lab lead on the Dav 001 refurbishment project and the Science Centre.

Research interests

  • Vaseline and other petroleum gels flammability
  • Diclofenac in vulture feathers
  • Fingerprints decomposition in fresh water and salt water
  • Blue tit nesting habits, brood size and fledgling success in different urban environments.

Kevin is a member of the department’s research groups. He has a broad range of knowledge and contributes in numerous ways.
