Areas of Expertise: Cybersecurity and Networking
Eric teaches cyber security and computer networking. He has several years of research experience in different information technology and information science subjects, as well as industry experience in cyber security. His current research interests include Network and Cloud Security, Industry 4.0, and Information Security Management.
Eric obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2018. He also has a BEng (Hons) / MEng (5-year Integrated Masters) in the same area from the University of Minho (Portugal), awarded in 2012.
Before joining ARU in 2020, he was working as a cyber security analyst in a world-leading AI cyber security company in Cambridge (UK). He has also worked in academia in various research-oriented roles: postdoctoral researcher at Solent University in Southampton (UK); PhD researcher at the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC) (Portugal); and research assistant at the University of Minho (Portugal).
Eric is a member of our Cyber Security and Networking (CSN) Research Group.
