Dean has experience leading several areas of the primary education curriculum in schools. He has extensive experience teaching across Key Stage 1 and 2 and enjoys sharing his expertise through his position of Senior Lecturer Practitioner.

Background

Dean has been teaching full time since 2014. During his career, he has taught pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2 as well as undertaking the role of a Senior Leader. Dean’s main area of expertise is within the primary curriculum is English, and he has also lead on LGBTQ+ inclusion, assessment and mental-wellbeing of staff and pupils.

As a result of his time working within primary schools across London and Essex, Dean has an excellent understanding of child development and children’s educational journeys from ages 3-11. In addition to teaching in primary schools, Dean has worked closely and built a strong network with a vast number of educational professionals, including head teachers, special needs professionals and education advisors and continues to work closely with primary education practitioners.

Dean’s research interests link closely to his personal experience working within primary schools, as well as the courses he teaches on. He has a wealth of experience teaching these areas in primary schools.
