Dangeni is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on an international project Intergenerational care relations: Challenges and potentials for reconciliation of education and care in ageing knowledge societies (InterCare), funded by the Volkswagen Foundation (2024-2028).

Dangeni is mononymous (i.e., has only one name) following the custom of her ethnic minority community in China. She is a higher education researcher-practitioner with a focus on inclusion and navigating the experiences of international and minoritised cohorts. Her explores the intersections of higher education, internationalisation and inequalities.
Before joining the School of Education, she held research, teaching and practitioner roles at Newcastle University, the University of Warwick and the University of Glasgow. Dangeni convenes two networks: the Diary Methods Community and Internationalisation Practitioner Network to foster dialogue and bridge research and practice within her areas of expertise.
