Christian is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification, working in an Ambulatory Care setting. Further to this he was a Charge Nurse in an Emergency Department.

Background

The role of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Ambulatory Care is to receive referrals from the Emergency Department, General Practitioners and the ward areas. The process for the ANP is for the assessment, treatment and safe discharge of patients, autonomously, with support from senior medical and nursing teams.

The role of Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department consisted of staff managerial roles, internal training as well as working within the trust’s multi-disciplinary team. The practical application of the role was running and working in all the areas of the Emergency Centre, Resus, Majors, Minors.

Teaching

Christian is a Lecturer in Adult Nursing on the Pre-Registration Adult Nursing course.
