Course: BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science

Hi! My name is Ben, and I’m currently a first-year student paramedic with London Ambulance Service, studying on the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science course in Chelmsford.

Since being accepted to ARU I have been fully engaged with both the academic and social aspects of university life. Within the academic environment, I love to get involved, taking an active role in attending extra-curricular events advertised by the faculty, such as research opportunities and multidisciplinary learning. Outside of the classroom, I have really enjoyed taking part in society events and I am an active member of ARU Sirens Cheerleading.

I am a little way from home - before coming to university, I lived ‘up North’ on the Wirral (not far from Chester and North Wales), working as a teaching assistant in a secondary grammar school. I also volunteered as an assistant youth leader, working with 7-14s each week. I still keep in touch with my old school and workplace, and have been invited back to give talks regarding my experiences on the course and with London Ambulance.
