No matter how passionate you are about your course, when it comes to writing assignments it can be slightly challenging, which I’ve discovered recently.

The initial part of an assignment is the research, which I find really interesting as it allows me to find out more about my future career, especially the practical side.

One of the challenges that you’ll find during university is that you’ll have to juggle assignments with revising for exams, which I’m currently doing. It’s really important to prioritise well and I suggest starting assignments early and getting them done so you’ve got plenty of time to prepare for the exam.

You’ll find yourself going over similar points when writing assignments, which may feel frustrating at times, but just power through because it feels so good when you hand it in. People have different methods in writing assignments. Some people work best under pressure and so do it the day before the deadline, and some people need to start months beforehand like me. You just need to find what’s right for you.

The location of where you write your assignments is also important. A lot of students go to the library to work, however I tried this and it didn’t work for me. Although I can get distracted sometimes at home, I found it is the best place for me as I have all my things there if I need them and it’s comfortable. If you prefer staying in your room like me, whether you’re at home or student accommodation, it’s a good idea to keep it clean because it encourages you to stay there longer and focus on the deadline.

No matter what course you do, assignments and exams are part of uni life so it’s worth getting a feel for what’s best for you.
