Course: BA (Hons) English Literature

I am a BA (Hons) English Literature student in my second year at Anglia Ruskin’s Cambridge campus. I am a stationery, book and film hoarder and am particularly fond of Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Supernatural and Star Wars!

I am a stay-at-home student and I commute to university. This played a big part in my decision to study at Anglia Ruskin as it is so close to where I live. I had previously accepted an offer to study at another university but with the rise of university costs I felt Anglia Ruskin had more to offer and was in a more affordable location for me. I then deferred for a year and worked at my local Waitrose store to save money before starting my course.

I have now worked at Waitrose as a part-time employee for around four years and continue to do at least 14 hours a week whilst completing my studies. Having a part-time job has meant I have managed to do a lot of travelling in between studying which is something I am extremely passionate about. I have visited Dublin, Prague and Paris during my time at university and am planning a three week trip to Australia and New Zealand for the coming summer.

I have had an amazing experience so far at Anglia Ruskin and made some amazing friends who have become a great support network during the stress of exams and assignments. I have also worked with some great tutors who are always available to give helpful advice and even just help to boost your confidence when you need it as well.
