Aimed at developing confidence in the classroom, Dr Heather Stevens-Lilley from the Department of Music and Performing Arts, ALSS leads this fun, day-long workshop focused on utilising practical skills from drama training to explore various teaching scenarios and review classroom management.
The workshop will involve active participation in tasks and exercises, alongside shared discussions about different approaches and strategies to maintaining an effective learning environment.
Heather will look at the connections between teaching and performing in order to explore our own teaching personas and to find ways of communicating most effectively with varying numbers of students, ranging from individuals to large groups. The workshop will culminate in working through certain classroom scenarios through role play in interactive dialogue about the issues being confronted and raised.
