This game design and digital art course is tailored for individuals aspiring to carve out a career within the diverse realms of the gaming industry, offering a broad foundation in game design principles while also allowing for later specialisation in areas such as character design, environmental art, and immersive experience design. Recognising the dynamic and rapidly evolving nature of the game industry, the curriculum has been crafted to stay abreast of current trends and technologies, ensuring content relevance and alignment with industry standards, as well as fostering essential professional skills such as teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and effective communication.

Consultations with leading game studios and industry professionals have shaped the course to meet the exacting demands of the sector, embedding key skills sought by employers. Regular interactions with the industry through guest lectures, workshops, and live project briefs provide invaluable insights and real-world exposure to our students. Modules throughout levels 4 and 5, along with the final year Game Studio Design and Development project, emphasise critical areas, including ethical considerations in game design, project management, user experience, and innovation in interactive entertainment, alongside developing a robust portfolio.

In addition to technical and creative skill development, the course places a strong emphasis on professional growth and employability. Our dedicated careers service, recognised for its excellence, offers workshops, one-to-one counseling, and resources to enhance job search strategies, CVs, and interview performance. The course also facilitates direct engagement with the gaming industry through events like game jams, employability fairs, and industry led live-briefs, providing students with firsthand experience and networking opportunities.
