Learn more about animal care, handling and management with our accredited Level 3 Work-Based Certificate in Practical Animal Care Skills at Writtle College.

If you are passionate about the animal industry and are keen to gain the skills and knowledge to progress to higher levels of learning or to employment in the land-based sector, the Level 3 work-based Certificate in Practical Animal Care Skills course could be for you.

You will access a range of specialist campus facilities during practical sessions, including our Equine Training and Development Centre, working farm, Titchmarsh Animal Centre and Pet Behaviour Clinic. Our campus is home to around 200 species of animals, offering the chance to study a diverse range of reptiles, exotic mammals, horses, livestock and pets.

The course enables you to experience our signature blend of theoretical and practical learning while delving into a range of topics including the handling of animals, promoting the health and well-being of animals, planning, supervising and controlling the movement of animals, establishing animals in a new environment and more.
