Verity’s interests and expertise lie in Sports development and sports coaching. She holds a number of coaching qualifications and brings over ten years of knowledge from the sport development sector.
Verity joined ARU in 2014 as a Sports Project Officer, within TEAM ARU. This role saw her oversee a significant Sports England funded project. Before joining the faculty of science and engineering, Verity also worked in corporate marketing, in the outreach team. This two year role gave Verity a valuable insight into widening participation in HE, as well as further classroom delivery in secondary schools. In 2019 Verity joined the school of psychology and sports science as a Lecturer practitioner, teaching on the Sports Coaching and Physical Education degree, as well as course leading the Coaching for performance in football degree.
Previously, Verity worked at a local authority as a Sports development officer gaining very relevant experience in community coaching, primary school PE coaching, sports funding, club development and participation.
