Sonam has been involved with the academic team in teaching since 2016. She is a GOC registered optometrist that has accreditations in MECS, Myopia Control contact lens fitting, and has been awarded an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Background

An Anglia Ruskin University alumna, Sonam has achieved a degree in BSc (Hons) Ophthalmic Dispensing (2011) and BOptom (Hons) Optometry (2014). She qualified in 2015 and was entered into the General Optical Council register as an Optometrist.

Sonam also works as a locum optometrist for both independent and multiple practices. She is MECS accredited, and having worked at Anglia Ruskin University since 2016 as an Associate Lecturer, and a clinic supervisor since 2017, has experience in lecture delivery, the running of lab sessions, exam assessments, and supervising both undergraduate and pre-registration optometry students.
