Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research
Snow began her PhD research at Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research in April 2024. Her research focuses on music therapy in crisis management in correctional settings with mental health patients.
Snow is interested in understanding and exploring the programmes and interventions of crisis management, the dynamic between music and incarcerated people who are experiencing crisis, and the interaction between music therapy and crisis in correctional settings.
Snow has been working in psychiatric inpatient program in prison setting as music therapy since 2014. Prior to that, she worked with elderly people with dementia and in hospice and community mental health settings. She fascinated by the interactions between individuals and music during music therapy sessions, and holds a strong belief in music therapy.
Snow was born and raised in Beijing, China, and went to the United States for her Master’s degree in Music Therapy. Her Master's thesis was titled A Discussion from the Culture Perception of the Adaption of Western based Music Therapy with Hospice in China.
Snow is passionate about experiencing and learning about different cultures from both a personal and a music therapy perspective.
