His research has focused on how we can switch from our current industrial 'linear' model or a circular economy and how operational excellence tools and industry 4.0 can be combined in a connected supply chain to achieve zero-waste.

Background

With core expertise in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Manoj has an interdisciplinary background in applied economics, environmental sciences and works at interface between these disciplines to generate impact on policy and businesses. Manoj's research projects are collaborative in nature, have been co-designed by challenge owners and multi-stakeholders in a participatory way and involves addressing research priorities of partners in the UK, Asia, Latin America and Africa for generating impact. Manoj is passionate about student experience, and research-led teaching and has been awarded several student-led best lecturer/supervisor.

  • Interdisciplinary research on food system (Core area: lean operations, data driven supply chains, participatory methods for value chain analysis, value stream mapping)

Areas of research supervision

Manoj is currently supervising PhD students with interests including Lean Management, Sustainable Supply Chains, Modern Day Slavery, Circular Economy, Industry 4.0. He has experience in quantitative as well as qualitative research methodologies.
