Larry has worked for the NHS for over 20 years. His main area of expertise is Older People Mental Health which covers dementia, depression and other mental health conditions commonly occurred in Older Adults population.
Larry is qualified as a mental health nurse in Hong Kong. He came to the UK to expand my nursing experience and to pursue further education. He gained a diverse clinical experience working for the NHS. Larry also worked for Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) intermittently to broaden my career both clinically and in higher education. During Larry's time with ARU, he had the opportunity to work with many NHS Trusts across the Eastern Region and London. Ian delivered courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. he also delivered tailored made workshops for NHS Nurses and Allied Health Professionals who needed up-to-date skills to provide high standard of care to NHS patients and carers.
Dementia care is a National Priority. During the time when I worked with people-with-dementia and their carers, I understood that there are a lot to be done to improve the dementia care provision for these population groups.
Stress management and Well-being strategies are not just for people-with-dementia and their carers. There has been a rise in number of people suffering from different forms of anxiety-related conditions and depression due to various reasons. Research in stress management and well-being is crucial as Health Promotion and Treatment Interventions.
