Dr Kun Feng has been a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University since 2024 and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). He teaches full-time and part-time students, as well as degree apprentices. His research focuses on sustainable transport infrastructure, particularly structural health monitoring of road pavements and bridge structures.

Kun completed his BEng in Civil Engineering at the Yangtze University in 2017, including final-year studies at the Technological University of the Shannon. He studied for a Master's in Civil Engineering at Trinity College Dublin, and completed his PhD at University College Dublin in 2022. Both his PhD and his Postdoc at Queen’s University Belfast are mainly related to sustainable and resilient transport infrastructure, with a focus on roads and bridges, particularly in vibration-based structural health monitoring and structural assessment.
Over the past few years, Kun has worked for two large research projects. The first, MARS-Fly, was a €1.7 million tri-partite initiative funded by SFI, DfE NI, and NSF, collaborating with universities in Ireland, UK, and US. The second, StreetZero, is a £2.3 million research project funded by the EPSRC Prosperity Partnerships, which connects and integrates his research at Queen’s University Belfast with industry partners, including Wrightbus and DfI NI.
