Gwendoline is a Dispensing Optician with extensive experience in bespoke dispensing and product design working with many independent eyewear collections from around the world.

She has a keen interest in product design, materials and innovation and their importance in style and comfort.

Background

Having completed the BSc (Hons) Optical Management at Anglia Polytechnic University (now ARU) in 1999 and gaining the dual qualification of FBDO, Gwendoline has worked in independent practices in Cambridge and London as practice manager. She has clinical experience in conducting OCT clinics and has been Secretary for ABDO Area 4 and joint DO Representative of the Cambridgeshire LOC.

Gwendoline complemented her practice work by returning to ARU as an examiner in 2013, then as a Practice Placement Auditor and as a Course Tutor for ARU’s Ophthalmic Dispensing Assistant Online course. She now varies her professional time as a locum for two prestigious London practices (where she is lead trainer for one) and providing academic support at ARU as an Associate Lecturer and still undertakes audits for ARU on behalf of the GOC.
