Gargi is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing Apprenticeships and an early career researcher in social policy. Gargi is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and the Higher Education Academy, holding a master’s in healthcare education management. Gargi has 17 years of clinical experience at the NHS, concluding this tenure as a lead clinical nurse specialist, policy developer, and mentor and educator for multidisciplinary staff.
Gargi represents the Early Career Researcher (ECR) community on the Impact Advisory Group, helping to shape impact support at ARU. Additionally, Gargi co-leads the Reproductive and Family Health Research Group for the HCRC. Before joining Anglia Ruskin University, as a lead policy developer for the Nutrition and Dietetics department, Gargi developed and implemented essential policies to achieve departmental objectives. Engaging with regional and national policymakers (NNNG), Gargi crafted internal policies and provided expert guidance and ensured strategic development and best practice benchmarking.
As a Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist in nutrition for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Gargi implemented standardised evidence-based practices across the three sites and led trust-wide training programmes for new nutrition devices and provided advanced nursing care and advice. Gargi collaborated with senior practitioners to align with the Trust Nursing Strategy and improve nursing practices. Gargi’s innovative approach identified areas for enhancing patient care and cost efficiency. Gargi worked with commissioning groups, managed contracts, and promoted seamless nutrition support services across the three sites.

Current involvement with the interdisciplinary collaborative research-
Gargi is currently acting as a co-supervisor to a Professional Doctorate (DProf) student. Principal Supervisor for funded Summer Research Interns for a MSc student and a MBBS 3rd year student.
Gargi secured internal research funding for the Undergraduate Research Internship Scheme for 2023/24, providing two Summer Research Interns with a stipend of £1250 each for a full-time, three-week duration. The funding was provided by the Research and Innovation Development Office, ARU.
Gargi served as an external consultant/advisor for the “Romany Gypsies and Irish Travellers: barriers to accessing purposeful activities in Prison” project, funded by HM Prison and Probation Service, assisting/advising them with quantitative data analysis of the survey dataset. The project's launch report explicitly recognised and acknowledged my academic contributions and advice.
Gargi mentored a colleague in their application for direct entry to FHEA, resulting in their successful certification.
