Fanqu Li is a PhD candidate at Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research (CIMTR) and is currently working on two projects. She is a music therapist and received her Master’s degree from Temple University in 2024.

Fanqu is particularly interested in dementia research. She majored in music performance as an undergraduate, and specialises in musicals and soprano operas.

Background

Fanqu has worked in music therapy in hospice care; provided music therapy for adults with physical disabilities, elderly people with cognitive impairments, and non-verbal people with brain injuries at rehabilitation centres; and provided music therapy for children with special educational needs and adolescents with cerebral palsy.

She has written two theses: Methods and Theories of Music Therapy for Children with Autism, and Music Therapy Interventions that Enhance Daily Care for Rehab Patients: A Treatment Protocol.
