Our Study Abroad programme gives you the chance to live and study at our campuses in Cambridge or Chelmsford. You can apply if you've completed at least one year of a degree course at your home university. 

With a vast number of subjects to choose from (over 250!), we guarantee you'll find something you love in a country you'll never forget.

Please note that for some subjects you'll need to have had prior study and credits, but we're here to advise you throughout the application process. If you're not sure about anything please email studyabroad@aru.ac.uk.

Making your application

Application deadlines for our Study Abroad programme for the 2022-23 academic year are:

  • Trimester 1 (September-December 2022): 31 May 2022
  • Trimester 2 (January-May 2023): 31 October 2022

Before applying, check our modules on our course pages. You can search for courses from our Study page. If you choose a specific course, look at the 'Teaching and Assessment' section and it will state the modules and module descriptions for that course. If you are unable to find specific modules, please email studyabroad@aru.ac.uk to enquire.

Then, to sign up to the programme, please read our Application Procedure before completing the following forms and sending them to studyabroad@aru.ac.uk.

Visa information

If you want to study in the UK for a full year, you'll need to obtain a Student visa.

If you're coming to study for one trimester you'll be on a Standard Visitor visa or enter the UK as a visitor, which doesn't allow you to work while here.

Fees

The costs for the Study Abroad programme for 2022/23 are as follows:

Study Abroad fee

  • One trimester: £5,250
  • Two trimesters: £10,500

EU (settled status only) fee

  • One trimester: £4,625
  • Two trimesters: £9,250
