In the School of Medicine our research strategy places clinical academic training – at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels – at its core.
By focusing on developing and retaining a research-informed local healthcare workforce, our goal is to directly improve health outcomes for the populations we serve in Essex.
We offer Integrated Academic Training in Essex, including Clinical Academic Fellowships and the Specialised Foundation Programme.
Medical students at ARU have many opportunities to engage in research – and build essential knowledge and skills.
The Essex Clinical Academic Training (ECAT) Team at ARU oversees all operational aspects of our Integrated Academic Training programme. The team also supports the growth of clinical academic opportunities in the School of Medicine.
