Alumni Reunion Days 2018
Chelmsford
Our Chelmsford Alumni Reunion Day took place on Saturday, 10 March 2018 and you can view a small selection of photos taken on the day, below. It was a great opportunity for our alumni and guests to share their memories of studying with us and their predictions for the future. Some of the memories shared were written down on our 'Memory Board' which will be stored in our Time Capsule and re-opened in June 2043. A selection of the comments written on the Memory Board were: "Coming to England was the first challenge that I had to overcome. Luckily, ARU's lecturers, staff and students were friendly and very helpful. It felt like home being surrounded with amazing people here!" and "My uni days were the absolute best! I made an amazing group of friends who I love so much and who made uni worth it." Hopefully you might be able to read some more of the comments in the photo below, along with some of our predictions for what life might be like in 2043, which will also be stored in the Time Capsule. Such as there'll be no more plastic, there'll be more one-to-one teaching but with artificial intelligence rather than a human tutor, and there will be a cure for dementia and cancer. In Chelmsford we were also fortunate to have Alan Pamphilon, assisting us at our Chelmsford 'Memory Wall', on hand to tell you all about historic events. Alan conducts the Chelmsford History Walks, covering topics such as the Marconi factory and memories of the city High Street. Alan is also our March Alumni of the Month feature.
At 2.00pm, our Students' Union invited all alumni to join them for a few drinks at their new bar, called '92' in our Tindal Building.
Cambridge
Our Cambridge Alumni Reunion Day took place on Saturday, 28 April 2018 and you can view a small selection of photos taken on the day, below. Lectures were delivered by our talented staff Professor Viren Swami, Dr Cathrine Jansson-Boyd and Dr Sean Lang. Former member of staff Tony Kirby also delivered a talk on '160 years of Anglia Ruskin'. Tony is the author of 'Anglia 150', a publication detailing the past 150 years of Anglia Ruskin.
At 2.00pm, our Students' Union invited all alumni to join them for a few drinks at the bar, at Peter Taylor House. A special unveiling of a list of SU Officers took place and many of our former officers were able to join in with the celebrations of the day.
Anglia Cup
On Sunday 29 April 2018 the Students' Union Anglia Cup took place. It was great to see some of our alumni compete against current students. Thank you to all that attended.
