Writtle University College and ARU have merged. Writtle’s full range of college, degree, postgraduate and short courses will still be delivered on the Writtle campus. See our guide to finding Writtle information on this site.

Careers fairs and events

Meet our students

When it comes to identifying prospective candidates and generating enthusiasm for your opportunities, there is no substitute for in-person interactions.

Outlined below is an overview of the events we typically host each year. For specific dates and booking details, kindly reach out to us: email [email protected].

Our careers fairs

Jobs and Placements Fair

This event is for employers with multiple live graduate and placement vacancies, who are looking to target our final-year students and those seeking year-in-industry placements.

It's an in-person event across our Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough campuses. It is free for employers to exhibit, but places go quickly, so contact [email protected] to register your interest.

Futures Festival

This is a programme of employability events covering all our courses, campuses and students at all levels of study. Taking place in October and November, this is the best time to run a workshop or skill session to engage with our students.

Example sessions include career insight talks, panel discussions, networking and mock assessment centres.

If you would like to get involved, either as part of a wider event or running your own bespoke event, please let us know via [email protected].

Graduate Futures

Similar to our Futures Festival, this is a week-long programme of employability events taking place in February, aimed at our students in their final year of study and looking for their first graduate job.

If you have roles to fill on your graduate scheme, this is the event for you. There is no charge to attend, and you can register your interest via [email protected].

Sector fairs

We often run careers fairs targeted at specific sectors, such as teaching, nursing, law, engineering and the built environment and computing. To find out more, please contact [email protected] and we can connect you with the relevant adviser.

Bespoke events

We are always happy to discuss how we could work together to create a bespoke event or workshop to help meet your talent attraction needs, whilst adding value to our students’ experience. This could be anything from an in-curriculum talk linked to current areas of study, or a skills-based workshop. If this is of interest, please let us know via [email protected].

Testimonials

"Thank you and well done to you and your team for yesterday’s recruitment fair. I think you came up with a formula and strategy that worked really well and was a great solution to a very difficult problem.

"Your students were also incredibly professional, articulate and well informed and it was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to speak with them."

"Working with the careers team at ARU has been great! They have enabled us to get in touch with a diverse range of students by coordinate bespoke careers events which were really well attended alongside helping us to sign up for central planned university events. The team is super helpful, and it has been great to have a regular point of contact when organising careers events."
