Course: BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing

Hi there! My name is Emily and I am a third-year student nurse studying at ARU Peterborough campus. I live about ten miles away from the campus, with my parents. I am fortunate to study my course whilst living at home (making it cheaper), but still face the same challenges all students face!

Having the opportunity to study at ARU has been amazing for me. I have made some great friends,. and some of the most intelligent and resilient lecturers who I will aspire to practice like in my future career.

I have been lucky enough to visit a wide variety of placements during my two years so far at ARU, including surgical, medical, intensive care and community – all of which I loved and have gained a wide knowledge from. Each one has been so different and individually given me so much comprehension I will take forward to my future practice. I am yet to decide where I would like to specialise and work, as each area has given me a great privilege and insight. But throughout my blogs I will share my individual feelings for each area I work in.
