The Employability Service at ARU has been has been the go-to place for guidance and advice, not only for when graduating but also throughout my course.

The team are friendly and helpful and Joanne really gives it her all in order to help us. The careers fairs have been particularly successful for me and all-round great opportunities for everyone. It's been a great chance to meet employers, ask about roles, what they're looking for – and then use the Employability Service to plan how to get there.

Attending the careers fair in my first year was perhaps a bit eager, although it taught me what the employers were after and helped me in my own role at the time. The careers fair in the third year however, has given me the opportunity to speak to recruiters first hand. I applied for various roles after speaking to recruiters and got invited to some assessment days.

As interviews were fast approaching, I left slightly overwhelmed and in too deep. However, the Employability Team were there again, giving advice on what to expect at assessment days, likely interview questions and how to answer them to show yourself in the best light.

Following the careers fair and help with interview questions, I subsequently secured a graduate role. I can't thank the Employability Team enough.
