Collaboration with Nepal

Academic Writing Workshop for Nepali Early Career Researchers in Humanities and Social Sciences

We will deliver an intensive five-day academic writing workshop to 25 early career researchers (ECRs) in Nepal. The workshop will be a series of hands-on teaching and support sessions on developing academic writing capacity, bid writing, networking, and article publishing, and will be delivered by the academic team members and journal editors. Following the workshop, participants will be supported by the team via video conferencing. Participants will be provided with constructive feedback, and their draft articles proofread and copyedited to illustrate best practice in academic English.

Participants will be drawn from the seven administrative regions of Nepal plus Kathmandu. A stratified sample of applicants will ensure parity between genders and marginalised Indigenous groups. In addition to improving writing standards, we will also provide participants with the opportunity to present at the 2026 NELTA Conference.

Collaboration with the University of Trento, Italy

CIHE is currently developing a partnership with colleagues in the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Trento (UniTrento). The collaboration focuses on promoting engagement and providing support for staff development for student-facing professional staff and university teachers and impact evaluation.

University of Trento (UniTrento) is a dynamic, middle-size University located in the northeast of Italy. Founded in 1962, it has constantly pursued the improvement of the quality of research and teaching and the strengthening of its international dimension, networking with qualified universities and research centres from all over the world. The strong commitment to international research and mobility projects has boosted its attractiveness and position in both national and international rankings. ARU and Trento offer a wide range of subjects from undergraduate to PhD studies.

Associate Professor Anna Serbati, Associate Professor Daniele Agostini, and PhD student Elena Benini visited us from UniTrento to present our Pedagogic Research Conference and meet with CIHE colleagues. We have agreed to collaborate to assist colleagues in advancing their pedagogic research with a particular focus on staff development for student-facing professional staff and university teachers at ARU and UniTrento and impact evaluation. In support of this initiative, we have agreed to meet regularly and present at CIHE’s monthly meetings.

Collaboration with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)

CIHE is currently developing a partnership with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Centre for Learning Enhancement and Research (CLEAR) to promote engagement and provide support for pedagogical research.

Vienne Lin from CUHK visited ARU to meet with CIHE colleagues and recorded a presentation that was presented at our Pedagogic Research Conference with a live Q&A session from Hong Kong. CIHE and CLEAR have agreed to collaborate to assist colleagues in advancing their pedagogic research.

In support of this initiative, CLEAR invited colleagues from ARU to participate in their inaugural academic writing workshops. Additionally, we have also agreed to present our work on facilitating colleagues' pedagogic research engagement at our respective monthly meetings.
