Invitation to participate in survey: Managing and Facilitating Teamwork in Higher Education

Published: 19 November 2019 at 10:11

Do you use group and teamwork in your teaching? Whether your answer is 'yes' or 'no', we'd like to invite you to participate in a survey on managing and facilitating teamwork in Higher Education.

Our research investigates strategies to support effective group and teamwork in Higher Education to increase the use of active and collaborative learning methods. Based on previous studies and a literature review, we found that negative team or group dynamics can be a major obstacle in active collaborative learning. The survey is designed to identify good practice of effective teamwork based on teaching strategies and interventions aligned with Tuckman’s four stages of teamwork (Tuckman, 1965)*.

This survey is part of the Office for Students funded project “Scaling Up Active Collaborative Learning for student success” and the results will be shared as open educational resources.

Please access the survey with the following link: https://angliaruskin.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/teamwork_survey

The survey should not take more than 15 minutes and will close on Sunday 1 December 2019.

Please feel free to share the survey link with interested colleagues.

Thank you for your contributions, which are most appreciated. If you have any questions about the survey or research, please contact Uwe Richter, Academic Lead: Distance and Online Learning.
