Moving your teaching and assessment online

Published: 14 April 2020 at 12:07

To support our move to online teaching and assessment we have developed a dedicated Canvas site: Supporting the Move to Online Teaching, and are offering a series of webinars for colleagues planning to use PollEverywhere, MyShowcase, MS Teams in Canvas, Canvas New Quizzes, and Zoom breakout rooms.

The overarching principle at this time is to keep things simple and be as clear and consistent as possible in our approach to online teaching over the remainder of this Trimester, to ensure that students continue to feel part of a supportive learning community and to mitigate the impact on our students’ learning and wellbeing.

For a list of upcoming webinars on Zoom, MyShowcase, Canvas New Quizzes and other learning technologies please visit CPD opportunities.

In addition to providing guidance on the different ways you might teach online, Supporting the Move to Online Teaching provides specific support for using a range of technologies including Zoom, MyPlayer, audio capture software, Echo360 screen capture software, and for creating narrated PowerPoints.

Colleagues who would like a refresher on how best to organise their module Canvas site to optimise student learning, will find it helpful to consult the Canvas Quick Wins support site.
