Strategic Planning and Performance
We provide excellent, high-quality professional expertise and services in Business and Market Intelligence, Student Data Management, Student Surveys, Student Data Returns and Quality, Strategic planning, development, and delivery that enable and support ARU and its key partners to make proactive and timely decisions to achieve its mission and strategic goals (including KPIs) and comply with regulatory requirements.
Divided into three key functions of Business Intelligence Service, Market Insights and Student Numbers, and Strategic Planning and Programme Delivery, we are responsible for:
- providing crucial data insights and performance monitoring in the areas of education (HE and FE), research and innovation, apprenticeships, student engagement, student recruitment, course portfolio development and market needs
- providing expertise in student data analysis, quality, and statutory returns (HE and FE) and being a primary contact for external agencies related to student data returns like OfS and HESA
- in collaboration with ITS, ensuring that the University has an effective and efficient Business Intelligence Service Delivery model and Infrastructure in place (including staff development)
- managing main student surveys like module evaluation surveys
- overseeing the annual planning process and the development and monitoring of the delivery of key strategies, including project management of several strategic projects
- undertaking impact evaluation of strategic initiatives within the agreed framework
We work closely with colleagues across ARU and our key partners. Most of us follow a hybrid working model, meaning we work from home (or remotely) for part of the week and come onto campus on other days. We tend to be based at one of ARU’s main campuses – Cambridge, Chelmsford, or Writtle.
