Study at an award-winning university

We're the Times Higher Education (THE) University of the Year. We've also been awarded a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework – a reflection of the outstanding education we offer our students.

  • Equip yourself with practical tools to develop, test, and realise entrepreneurial ideas.
  • Embrace experimentation, accept failure, and cultivate resilience through a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Take advantage of opportunities for real-world experience, including industry placements.
  • Build valuable connections for future career prospects though regular interactions with local employers and professionals.
  • Develop innovative ideas with prototype creation and testing.

You’re resilient and not afraid to make mistakes. You also know that as an entrepreneur, it’s important to experiment, accept failure and learn to try again.

Our BSc (Hons) Business with Entrepreneurship degree will equip you with tools that can help you develop, test and realise your ideas. You’ll also learn about applying for grants and reflect on what it really means to be an entrepreneur.

While studying at ARU, you’ll make strong professional connections, build a portfolio and – with regular teamwork and pitching – hone your entrepreneurial thinking and grow in confidence.

Careers

A Business with Entrepreneurship degree can prepare you for careers in a range of industries, in the UK and internationally.

You’ll be encouraged to reflect on your strengths and areas for development, and to make plans to enhance your skills and experience in preparation for employment.

There’s the option to study Business with Entrepreneurship as a four-year degree, with a placement year. During your placement year you’ll really get to immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations of a business. Many students who’ve chosen this route have been offered graduate roles by their placement companies.

Employability and personal career development

Informed by employers, our courses support an integrated approach to employability. You’ll have opportunities to develop the skills and abilities they are looking for and gain a deeper understanding of how your academic learning relates to the world of work through Live Briefs and Ruskin Modules.

To amplify your career ambition, you will need to actively dedicate time outside of your studies, whether you choose to explore an ARU Certificate for Professional Development, placements, internships or volunteering. Or you could make a social impact by collaborating with our partner organisations through our volunteer scheme Students at the Heart of Knowledge Exchange (SHoKE). These all give you an edge, providing you with experience that you will be able to evidence on your CV and talk about in interviews.

Our Employability and Careers Service offers a range of expert advice and support to build your unique professional profile, including tailored career appointments, advice on writing your CV, and help to complete job applications. You’ll have 24/7 access to the Careers Centre, our comprehensive online digital resource, which empowers you to start building a Personal Career Development Plan from the very start. Design your future at ARU.
