Anatomy Workshop
Step into the world of anatomy with a hands-on demonstration of bony landmarks. You’ll label and sticker these landmarks on a model animal while learning about the muscles that connect to them. You'll also gain practical experience with health checks as we guide you through the process. Learn how to complete a full health check on an animal, from checking vital signs to spotting any abnormalities. It’s a great way to put theory into practice and understand how health checks play a crucial role in maintaining animals' wellbeing.
Aquatic Therapy in Canine Rehabilitation and Conditioning
Our hydrotherapy pool and underwater treadmill lets us tailor our work to suit each dog perfectly. They provide different but effective treatment and experiences based on dogs' needs. This activity takes place in our large barn and arena, giving you a unique opportunity to learn about equine structure in a real-world setting. You’ll learn how to 'read' and interact with these magnificent animals, enhancing your understanding of their movement and behaviour.

Look at common fungal pathogens and pests in our tropical greenhouses and postharvest pathogens, including commercial biological control organisms and natural predators. You'll have the opportunity to see fine detail, prepare slides to examine under the microscope and identify different spore types and diagnostic features.
Stallion AI Experience: An Introduction to Horse Breeding
Artificial insemination (AI) has been used regularly in horse breeding since the beginning of the 20th century. In this session you’ll learn about the horse breeding industry and the conversation surrounding AI. Observe a practical demonstration of the collection process with a mare and a stallion, and take part in discussion around disease prevention, biosecurity, and physiological stresses and musculoskeletal challenges.
Anatomy in Action: Prehab the new Rehab? Preparing the Horse for Ridden Work
This session will cover a range of subjects from our courses, from anatomy and physiology to therapy and performance. Enjoy a live demonstration of the musculoskeletal profile of a horse in our riding arena, and learn how movement targets specific muscles to enhance performance.
Optimising Performance with Effective Warm-ups
Consider the underpinning physiology as well as the psychological effects of the warm-up on performance. Using practical examples, you’ll explore the effects of warm-up activities on speed and power output. Whether preparing for sports competition or a park run, this session offers insights into optimising performance through effective warm-up strategies.
Eating for Health Vs Eating for Performance: Are They the Same?
A calorie is a calorie, right? Does it matter what you eat, or is it more important to consider how much you eat? What if you want to eat to be healthy vs eating to fuel sports performance? In this session, you'll consider these questions and factor in energy demands and macronutrient requirements based on the aims and objectives of individuals.
